2002 JAPAN DIE CASTING CONGRESS and EXPOSITION
|
|
|
Period: Thursday, November 7 - Saturday, November 9, 2002
Location: PACIFICO YOKOHAMA (Pacific Convention Plaza Yokohama)
Sponsored by: JAPAN DIE CASTING ASSOCIATION |
Invitation:
The Japan Die Casting Association sponsors the 2002 Japan Die Casting Congress
and Exposition from November 7th to 9th at PACIFICO Yokohama. Two years
have already passed since the previous one was held in the year 2000. This
time more attendance is expected than ever since the Material Process Technology
Center (SOKEIZAI CENTER), a Japanese incorporated foundation, sponsors
the SOKEIZAI Technology Exhibition 2002 at the same time.
Making "Casting Solution" our concept, we present three technical
papers, and exhibit die casting machines and other casting solution systems
such as peripheral equipment, a high-vacuum system, etc; and die cast examples
and a newly developed one-shot melt supply device (exhibited for your information),
the key words of which are "high productivity", "high quality"
and "environment".
If you come to the show, please be reminded that we are waiting for you
to stop by at our booth, and to leave a comment and/or a suggestion.

Friday, November 8: 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Saturday, November 9: 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Admission is free.
TOSHIBA MACHINE CO., LTD.: Booth No. 6 (on the right hand side, viewing from the entrance)
TOSHIBA MACHINE DIE CAST ENGINEERING CO., LTD.: Booth No. 7 (at the back of TOSHIBA MACHINE'S)
In the pursuit of our theme: "How to help the customer on the scene of casting", we exhibit the followings, making "Casting Solution" our concept.
With the DC350J-T machine we propose die casting high-quality parts by combining it with a high-vacuum device etc. With the DC135J-T machine we propose high productivity by quick-cycle operation; with the DEC150MT machine equipped with the one-shot melt supply device, a high-quality working environment.
Items to be exhibited
- DC135J-T (with quick-cycle automated devices) - SQUEEZE MASTER 2
- DC350J-T (fully automated die casting machine) - One-shot melt supply device (exhibited for your information)
- TOSCAST control unit - Large-sized super-high-speed-shot machine (panel display)
- High-vacuum casting system - Guide to our manufacturing plant in China
(The details of our exhibits and technical papers are depicted on the following pages. )

NEW VACUUM DIE CASTING SYSTEM
Introducing the new vacuum casting system consisting of the newly developed
high-vacuum device and high-airtightness die. Having adopted this system
together with the super-high-speed-shot die casting machine and the high-thermal-insulation
metal shot sleeve, the high-quality die castings that can be welded have
been achieved. |
 |
DC135J-T
(with quick-cycle automated devices)
The concepts of DC135J are its increased reliability and enlarged casting capability. It promises stable production even under harsh working conditions such as continuous quick cycle operation, and does achieve its high output. Please make the most of its performance together with the automated devices for quick cycle automatic operations. |

DC350J-MT
(fully automatic die casting machine)
Equipped with the high-performance servo valve, the DC350J-MT machine has made possible diversified injection motions. The single cumulative shipment of more than 100 machines has proved its high reliability and performance. It is re-exhibited this time, making the environment/high quality its theme. |

SQUEEZE MASTER 2
Taking on the countermeasure for shrinkage porosity, and having recognized for its high-quality casting, SQUEEZE MASTER has been renewed. Having adopted the TFT liquid-crystal color display, not only it enables confirmation of the operational status at a glance, but also its operational ease has been greatly improved. The number of I/O's has been increased, making it possible to fulfill customerfs various requests. |

One-shot magnesium melt supply device
* exhibited for your information
Developing the environmentally friendly type melt supply device that does not require a melting and/or holding furnace. Since there is no need of using the fire-preventive SF6 gas, it is a melt supply device friendly to the environment, having high heat efficiency at that. Not requiring the casting preparation time for melting a large quantity, casting can be started immediately after the die is preheated. |

3. Guide to the die casting congress
Congress location: Small Auditorium on the 5th Floor of Conference Center
Thursday, November 7: 9:30 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Friday, November 8: 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Saturday, November 9: 9:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.
Admission is charged, and lectures are given in Japanese.
At the 2002 Japan Die Casting congress, three lectures will be given from TOSHIBA MACHINE CO., LTD. Each technical paper is the result of activities of research and development, being responsive to the needs of the market. They will offer the most advanced die casting technologies to all of those who attend the sessions. Your attendance will be appreciated.
The followings are abstracts of the lectures. (The underline denotes the speaker.) |
JDC02-04: Performance Evaluation of CrN-Dispersion-Treated Die
In the afternoon session of Thursday, November 07
Jun Masuda, Shuuhei Honma and Sakae Takahashi
 |
The research was conducted for the die surface treatment method that is excellent in anti-erosion property against molten aluminum. The result of investigating the changes of die surfaces in aluminum-melt shows that the ferrous nitride formed on conventional die surfaces dissolves in the aluminum-melt in its early stages. Considering that the die erosion is promoted by the ferrous nitride dissolving, we devised a surface treatment method that forms and disperse stable chromium nitride on the die surface, and ran actual casting with the treated die to evaluate its performance. |

JDC02-30: Achievement of High-Quality Weldable Die Cast Parts by High-Vacuum
Casting
In the morning session of Saturday, November 09
Daisuke Fujimaki, Shokou Kubota and Takaaki Katoh
 |
Recently, the demand for reducing the weight of automotive parts has been
growing with the environmental issues in its background. Furthermore, the
demand has been upgraded from the parts for accessories or suspension-related
parts to even higher-quality die cast parts that can be welded on aluminum
body structures. To meet this demand, we have achieved casting the high-quality
die cast parts with the super-high-speed-injection die casting machine
and the new vacuum device working together. |

JDC02-32: Development of Environmentally Friendly LEOMACS Method, Combining
Electromagnetic Melt Supply and Powder Lubrication In the afternoon session of Saturday, November 09
Kazuhiro Suzuki, Kazumi Tsuruda, Iasao Kuboki and Toshiaki Toyoshima
 |
The working environment in a die casting shop is remarkably worsened by the smoke from burning lubricant, floating mist from spray and blowing noise on die cleaning. In order to eliminate these factors hostile to the environment, we at TOSHIBA MACHINE have accomplished NEW LEOMACS, the environmentally friendly casting system, using the electromagnetic melt supply together with powder lubrication. |
